water, water everywhere

before i get into my posting, i just wanted to note that i'm looking for my friend carl elvers in new orleans. i finally got through to his voicemail today, which made me happy. hopefully he'll call us crazy schultz's back soon!

my chiropractor is one of those very holistic types, and currently has me on a detox program. mostly, i think it consists of vitamin overdosing, and i was up to the full dosage of six capsules for the first time yesterday. so, right now, my body is full of the following vitamins % daily value:
150% A
2001% thiamin
2550% B6
1650% B12
660% E
and 666% of vitamin C. <--maybe my biggest problem, i just realized this now.
...also in the mix: 351mg taurine

the result is that i'm kinda buggin. the first few days nothing really happened, but last night i was like a depressed vibrating zombie. mike had to reheat my dinner for me after having a nervous breakdown over being very hungry but not knowing what to eat.

also, last night i had a really crazy nightmare. it was one of those wake-up-in-a-cold-sweat nightmares that you have to get up from and walk around for awhile before you can go back to bed. here's the parts that i remember. mike and i were leaving somewhere, like a camping or vacation destination, to do so, we had to go from the main area through a small shopping mall, down a gravel driveway to a long garage where guests kept their cars. i remember that the shopping mall area was a lot like one you'd find in an airport. i decided to use one of their complimentary wheelchairs and wheel myself around for fun. it was! the chair was new and the wheels were smooth. i wheeled by a convenience store/newspaper stand-like store, and my favorite aunt was there looking at stuff. she was also in a wheelchair, although she actually needed hers. (note: my aunt is getting up there, she's in her mid-seventies, but doesn't really use any sort of mobility aid.) she noted that she was looking to see if her book was on the shelves yet, as she'd just had one published. i told her that she did really neat stuff with her life, and she smiled and nodded. it was cute. so i wheeled on w/ mike as far as i could go in the chair (the gravel drive was harder to manuever). i got to the garage w/ mike and we started arranging our stuff into the car. it was kinda like a long aluminum farm shed. i got a little frustrated, because the packing was taking too long, so i took the dog out for a walk before we left. i left mike pondering the pile. dottie and i walked around this long resevoir-like pond that ran between the garage and the gravel drive. it wasn't very clean, it resembled a very large ditch that had filled w/ run-off water. i was wandering both around the pond and in thought, i finally noticed that dottie had run as far as her retractable leash would let her. i decided that enough time had elapsed and it was time to get out on the road. i started walking toward her and the garage, curving around the water, when i noticed that the leash had snagged something in the muck near the floor of the pond, so i grabbed it and tugged at it until it was freed and we continued on to the garage. i walked up the stairs to the side door platform, when i turned around to look at the pond, i noticed that the leash had actually snagged on an arm, and now a body was slowly turning out of the muck. it looked like a business man, middle aged, bloated, but not to have been in the water too long. i backed into the garage, away from it, slowly, carefully and quietly. i didn't want anyone to detect that i'd seen this. i definitely didn't want mike to see. as the body continued to slowly roll along the bottom of the pool, two more bodies, in various sizes and stages of decomposition, were revealed beneath the first. they started to roll off in other directions. i pulled my cell phone out of my purse, but wasn't decided if i should report it and risk being associated w/ the bodies. i looked towards mike, who was looking at me, annoyed because i wasn't helping w/ the packing. i felt the phone in my hand, thinking "if i don't call, someone will find them eventually..." i think he noticed on my face that something was wrong and came over. he asked me what was the matter, louder than i'd hoped he would, anything above a whisper would seem too loud. i motioned at the water, but he didn't get it right away. he said (quieter, i think he understood i needed him to be quiet) "what?" i said "the water." i started dialing <9,1,1...> when we both looked, it appeared as though the disturbance in the water had uncovered a half a dozen bodies or more, which were now floating about the pool. mike stepped back into theside doorway, stunned. before i put the phone to my ear, i looked back at the pool, and all the bodies were looking at me, bobbing about from above and below the water, some with eyes, some without, but all had turned to face who'd disturbed them. "i thought i'd call someone to help you," i called to the one closest to me, which seemed to be smirking. i noticed that one of the bodies had begun crawling out of the pool. i told mike as quietly as i could to close the door at the front of the garage, about 50 feet from us. he looked at me, still stunned. the body was walking that way. "run!" i whispered. he went, but he didn't run. he walked quickly. not quick enough. i looked back at the smirking, bobbing dead man "we're ok, we're for the staff." i looked along the inside wall of the garage, saw the open front door and mike almost to it. not quick enough, the light from outside flickered, and the body entered as mike arrived. i dropped the phone, maybe someone would come eventually and find us.

then i woke up.

  2. mike noted after he read this that he thought they seemed like zombies, which i have a big problem with. they weren't tho, they were more like things that inhabited dead bodies, because they were aware, and mean.

  3. Hmmm... I don't know, they do sound an awful lot like zombies to me.

But if Mike is no good against slow zombies, what's he gonna do when the fast ones get here?
